MLK Days of Service Inclement Weather Information

Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis are proud to partner with organizations across the city to offer volunteer opportunities through MLK Days of Service and our Care Like King initiative, January 11-15, 2024.

The safety and security of volunteers, employees, and families are of utmost importance. We ask that all volunteers and partnering agencies practice protocols to keep themselves, volunteers, and families safe during inclement weather. As a volunteer, if you feel it is unsafe for you to travel to a service project or perform other actions at a service project, please keep yourself safe and possibly arrange to volunteer again another day when conditions are more hospitable.

In the event of inclement weather, we ask volunteers to check directly with the organization that they have volunteered with to determine the status of their individual service project.  

Volunteer Memphis will work to provide updates via social media and VolunteerMemphis.org as they become available. The Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis office is operating under an inclement weather policy on January 14 and January 15. This means Leadership Memphis and Volunteer Memphis employees will be working remotely.
