Flex Leadership

Become a Flex Project Leader

Volunteer Mid-South's Flex Projects rely heavily on leadership volunteers who have made the extra commitment to Flex and give to us their greatest assets, their time and their expertise. If you are interested in sharing more of your time with us, please consider the following opportunities:

Project Coordinator
Project Coordinators (PCs) are the lifeblood of our flexible volunteering program. PCs serve as the liaison between Volunteer Mid-South (VM) staff and the partner agency for a term of at least one year. By making this commitment to one project, the PC offers consistency to the agency, VM and the volunteers. As liaison, the PC is responsible for communicating with the agency about project needs as well as with VM about volunteer resources, tools or supplies needed to complete the project. PCs also serve as the contact point for Flex volunteers wishing to participate in their project. This entails fielding e-mails and phone calls in a timely manner and communicating pertinent project requirements to potential volunteers.

A PC training of 90 minutes is required before leading projects for the monthly calendar or a Flex special event. At this training PCs are instructed in basic volunteer management, emergency procedures, and given the opportunity to discuss one on one potential projects with the Program Director. PC trainings will be held quarterly. If you wish to apply you must have attended a new volunteer orientation and participated in 10 hours of Flex programming. Inquiries can be sent to Flex Projects Director.

Leadership Council

The purpose of the Leadership Council is to assist Volunteer Mid-South with volunteer recruitment, retention, recognition, special events, and project quality control. This is achieved through the facilitation of New Volunteer Orientations (NVO), recruitment of new council and committee members, development and implementation of volunteer retention and recognition strategies, involvement in volunteer projects and initiatives as needed, and promotion of Volunteer Mid-South’s mission in the community. The Leadership Community Council will also address agency partner relationships, project coordinators, project content, and project satisfaction.

If you are interested in becoming a member of our Leadership Council please contact Flex Projects Director.
